Weaknesses: I can only think of one issue HDMI cables little difficult to hook up because of poor location on back of TV

Overall Evaluation: I have had no problems am very pleased with picture it has a better picture then my neighbors $2000 Sony setup was easy love High definition puts out an excellent picture works well with media Center I would recommend this Toshiba LCD also has excellent price

"I was VERY skeptical about buying a Toshiba 42” REGZA 1080P LCD HDTV - 42HL167, but the price was really, really good. I did buy the two year warranty that is optional. The only thing I noticed was that there were finger prints on the trim of it, but that probably happens to the new ones as well. We love the TV and the picture and quality is awesome. It was by far a good purchase and I would recommned it to others! ps. when you click the remote to turn the tv on, it does take a few, like ten seconds, for the tv to come on. We assume this is normal, but are not for sure.

"I bought Toshiba 42” REGZA 1080P LCD HDTV - 42HL167 around 2 years ago. Around 1 month ago, the TV just stopped working. Before this, it would frequently shut-down and I'd get no video unless I unplugged it and plugged it back in. I could hear something reset inside when I'd unplug it and plug it back in. Then, one day, it shut-down, and I unplugged it and plugged it back in and no power!
I took it to a Toshiba certified repair shop (affter calling their Support for help), their diagnostic of the problem was a bad "Sein Board". It would cost $545 to fix it! Almost as much as a brand new Philips 42 inch LCD I just recently purchased for another room.
I contacted Toshiba to ask for repair assistance, even just a discount on this part. They were not willing to help at all. I told them I would never but another Toshiba product, and they said basically you'll have to do what you have to do.

Terrible customer service. They obviously don't care about making their customers happy and producing a quality product that they'll stand behind.
BEWARE of Toshiba TV's!! Don't buy one, you'll be sorry!!!

"I use Toshiba 42” REGZA 1080P LCD HDTV - 42HL167 in my office, as a second home theater and as a second computer monitor. Inspite of its 1080p capability, the vga conection is limited to 1280 x 768. I am told it will handle more through the hdmi connection but dont have a hdmi conector on my video card as of yet."
