"I think Toshiba 42" Cinema Series 1080P LCD HDTV - 42LX177 is great-- and I have to disagree with the negative postings as well as some of CNETs review. First, the picture needs adjustment out of the box-- this is true. But after you adjust the colors- the PQ is amazing-- you will definitely be satisfied with the amount of detail and vividness it can show (I mean it is a 10 bit screen).

Regarding setting up the network to play music and see photos-- this is very very easy to set up. I don't know what CNET is talking about-- I did it in 2-3 minutes. The only thing that doesn't work well is the email service since you do need the "@" symbol for your gmail account..which you can't input from the Toshiba screen...hopefully an update will be coming soon!

As for the 120 hz-- I think it is most applicable when you watch movies via HDMI-- but I haven't seen its benefits yet on cable-- but I also haven't subscribed to DirectTV yet so it may be more applicable for satellite digital imagery

Basically- to keep this summed up short-- IMHO the picture is as stunning as the new Sony XBR4s and the Samsung 72 and 82s...so you definitely get your bang for the buck-- I highly recommend this TV "

"Great luck with Toshiba TV's including Toshiba 42" Cinema Series 1080P LCD HDTV - 42LX177 . No issues with at all, great picture, reliable. Love the remote too. Would recommend to all. Bought a smaller one for kitchen also, yeah.
Looks nice and sits nice on table. Has shiny black border, but I like it. Good hookups, very easy to use.

"We purchased the Toshiba 42LX177 27-inch REGZA LCD HDTV for a trade show monitor as well as our bedroom television and couldn't be more pleased. It travels well and in a brightly lit room has a beautiful picture. This was what was most important to us along with how the picture looked from the side viewing since we move around the room a lot. The built in DVD player is convenient for trade shows, but we don't use it at home since it is in an entertainment built in and we'd have to turn the TV each time to insert the DVD. The multiple computer ports are excellent. All in all, we can't say enough about the Regza 27 and will be buying a 42 inch for the family room soon.

"Strengths: The 120hz of Toshiba 42" Cinema Series 1080P LCD HDTV - 42LX177 makes watching my favorite sports game, football, a dream. The blurr that comes from most lcds is not even a question in this set. Just go to any box store and dare to compare any other set.

Weaknesses: Some widescreen movies will not take up whole screen. I think this may be because of my DVD player.

Overall Evaluation: The 120hz eleminates nearly all of the blurr. Plenty of choices too hook up nearly any device. If you like to watch fast moving action shows or football games you need this set. The price is much lower than many of the other sets that have 120hz. This is an excellent tv.

"Toshiba 42" Cinema Series 1080P LCD HDTV - 42LX177 is my first HDTV (or any tv) purchase ever. I love it. The ClearFrame feature keeps the screen from blurring while watching massive battle sequences or anything with a lot of motion and the picture is so sharp it almost hurts to look at. That is not a bad thing :). Well worth the money easy to hook up and get ready to go. I just purchased a PS3 a few weeks before I purchased the TV and I have to say the difference is almost completely unbelieveable. The games went from being kind of dull to being a few pixels away from absolutely lifelike. Blew my mind. If you're considering buying an LCD widescreen this is the ONLY way to go. Two vigorous thumbs up. "
