When Samsung's SRS TruSurround XT built in speaker system receives mono or stereo content, it presents an expansive three-dimensional sound field, for dynamic sound to match the PN42A450 dynamic picture. "fast shipping. not the greatest of packaging. Samsung PN42A450 42 Inch Widescreen Plasma HDTV was brand new, in the original box, and perfect. This is the second Samsung 42 inch plasma that I own. What a bargain, and what a good tv. From sound to picture, all is perfect. Even when hooked up to an analog signal, it looks crisp. On an HD channel, it looks so realistic, it's spooky.

"We bought Samsung PN42A450 42 Inch Widescreen Plasma HDTV
for our bedroom we were replacing an old 36" crt. We got it on sale for $790 so we didn't expect much, but it turns out this is the new model with touch buttons, 3D, 3 HDMI ports. We don't have HD in this room so I expected the SD picture to be rather pixelated. But man I was so impressed on how well it displays SD content that I'm almost inclined not to put in an HD reciver in this room. I did hook up my pc and used it as a monitor and wow it looks great! Picture is smooth and the colors have alot of depth, I also hooked up my Xbox360 to it and the games look awesome! This tv looks cleaner and crisper than my $3000 Samnsung 61 inch DLP. I can't believe i! If your looking for a 42" TV this is the one to buy! Don't worry about it being 720p I've compared it with my 1080p set and you can't notice the difference. "

"Bought Samsung PN42A450 42 Inch Widescreen Plasma HDTV to replace an old Toshiba which lasted me many years. Picture on this new set is fantastic and was very easy to set up and program.
Read many reviews on various sets before choosing an I think I made the right decision. Would not hesitate to recommend this set to anyone looking for a new TV.

"I did a lot of research, and was headed for an LCD when this PN42A450 42 Inch Widescreen Plasma HDTV stopped me in my tracks. The Good:Picture Quality is fantastic. Just real juicy color. No LCD that we saw at the 6 retailers we shopped compared.Ease of Use:Easy to set up the TV, connections, and settings. Easy remote to use. Very impressed with the UI of the menus. I had read about all the burn in problems plasmas had and was skeptical about this TV. But so far, I've had no such problems. Not only does Samsung have some good built in anti-burn features (the inperceptible Pixel Shift is one), but here's what else I've done:- lowered the contrast and brightness settings to 45 instead of 100.- avoided black bars during the break in period- turned on pixel shift- broke the tv in, meaning used these settings for the first 100 hoursEveryone told me to go LCD, but we've been extremely happy with this model's vibrant picture quality. And what's a TV without good picture quality? "

"I purchased Samsung PN42A450 42 Inch Widescreen Plasma HDTV for my famiily room as a Christmas present along with a new Blu Ray Player. The picture, the clarity and the color are all outstanding. My only lack of satisfaction is in the speakers which are 1) located in the back of the unit and 2) sound a bit "tinny" in their tone. However, most of my DVDs are played through my Home Theater and its sound system. Only my regular TV watching is less than outstanding in sound.
